Inspired Academics

Students learn in an environment that ties together subjects, real-world applications, life experiences, and opportunities to provide service to others outside the classroom. Nothing is in a vacuum, and everything is related. Our teachers are experts at guiding young men to recognize connections between what they learn and what they do and teaching them the importance of applying their talents for the greater good.

Teachers guide students toward becoming self-motivated, organized, independent, and conscientious scholars. This enables all students to excel at the highest levels possible with many enrolling in Honors and Advancement Placement courses.

  • General Requirements

As a college-preparatory school, Loyola requires its students to complete successfully at least 26 course units. A minimum of six major course units must be completed successfully each academic year. One credit is awarded for the successful completion of a course which meets every day for a full year; 1/2 credit for the successful completion of a course which meets every day for one term, or every other day for a full year. In order to receive any credit for taking a course, a student must take the entire course and receive a final grade for the entire course.
  • College Prep

Our college prep and honors curriculum provide students with a variety of course offerings that spark creativity, explore conceptual and practical course materials, and build an academic profile that is coveted by many of the nation’s leading colleges and universities. Our students are challenged to excel at the highest level possible, so much so that they often achieve AP and SAT test scores well above the state and national averages. We also have graduates at 44 of the U.S. News & World Report’s Top 50 Universities and Service Academies, thanks in part to our dedicated college counseling staff, who work with our students to find the best possible placement for their individual talents and learning styles.
