Congratulations to senior Mason Ellison ’25 on being named the
Jerry Savage Player of the Year for the 2025 season. This prestigious award, given annually to the most outstanding high school basketball player in the region, recognizes Mason’s exceptional skill, leadership, and dedication to the game.
The Jerry Savage Player of the Year Award honors the legacy of legendary coach Jerry Savage, recognizing student-athletes who exemplify excellence in high school basketball. Mason now joins an elite group of players who have left a lasting mark on the game.
As a standout player for the Dons, Mason has consistently demonstrated excellence on the court. Averaging 20.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor, Mason became the Dons’ all-time career scoring leader this season. Mason's impressive performances both on and off the court and his ability to elevate his teammates have made him a true leader and a force in the MIAA.
A first-team All-BCL choice last season and All-BCL honorable mention honoree in 2022-23, Mason is the first Savage Player of the Year winner from Loyola since the award began in the 1988-89 season.
We congratulate Mason on this incredible achievement and look forward to watching his continued success next year at the University of Delaware. Roll Dons!
