St. Ignatius Hall Blessing & Dedication Ceremony
St. Ignatius Hall was formally dedicated and blessed on Saturday, August 21. The project is the centerpiece of a historic capital campaign that raised over $32 million to construct the building, enhance the school’s scholarship endowment, and bolster annual giving.
In addition to remarks by Peter Steall '22 (SGA President) and John O’Hara '96 (Middle School Principal), President Anthony Day shared his reflection on the work to bring the project to life. “St. Ignatius Hall is more than a building, greater than the sum of its steel and stone — it is a symbol of what we can do together, what unity can create and what endless imagination and generosity can forge.”
Carson Hewitt '28, Mark Tampus '27, and Ian Durham '26 represented Loyola’s middle school student body and performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting. They were joined by Loyola’s mascot, and with a swing of their swords, the building was formally open for the 2021–22 school year. View the entire ceremony below.
