Loyola Blakefield Names New Varsity Golf Coach

Joseph Ciattei has been named Loyola Blakefield's new Varsity Golf Coach. As head coach, Ciattei hopes to build off of the program's success and ensure that it is a worthy contender year after year.

“I am thrilled, honored, and excited to take over the Loyola golf program," says Coach Ciattei. "There is a proud history to the golf program, and I look forward to adding to that history. Thank you to Coach Henry for trusting me to lead the boys. I can’t wait to get started! Roll Dons Roll!”

Currently one of our middle school instructors, Coach Ciattei began his 17-year golf coaching career at St. Paul’s School for Girls, where he was the head coach from 2007-2016. Coach Ciattei then took over the Beth Tfiloh boys golf program from 2018-2023, winning the 2022 MIAA 'C' Conference Championship. Last season, Coach Ciattei was an assistant coach for the JV Golf Dons.

Coach Ciattei also has been coaching soccer at many levels for 18 years and was named the IAAM Girls Soccer Coach of the Year in 2021, when he led the girls program to an 11-5-1 record and a runner-up finish in the championship game.

"I am excited that Coach Ciattei has agreed to be our next head varsity golf coach," says Athletic Director Blake Henry '98. "He brings a ton of experience as a MIAA head coach to our program which I know our boys will love. Coach Ciattei has a great reputation in our middle school as a teacher and as a soccer coach. I am confident he will lead our program and team to success this coming season and beyond."
