Varsity Water Polo Claims MIAA 'A' Conference Championship

Congratulations to the 2024 JV and Varsity Water Polo Dons for bringing home the MIAA 'A' Conference Championships!

Varsity defeated Mt. St. Joseph in a thrilling 18-17 win, while JV defeated Gilman 15-10.

"What a great end for these guys! This team really came together and played a cohesive unit.  All the boys hard work was really rewarded. It’s great to finish the season with a MIAA victory" shares Coach Gordon Amato. “This year it felt like what I was selling, the boys were buying. They trusted me and what the coaches had to say. We did three different tournaments, play seven games in six days. These guys have been through the gauntlet... it helped them grow as a team and trust each other.”

"We’re really a family unlike in years past,” said Senior Dominic Feracci, who was the Greg Hallisey Award recipient as the game’s Most Valuable Player. Dominic led the team in scoring with 8 goals.

The team is extremely proud of what they accomplished. Senior Charlie Kunkel encapsulated the mood when he said, “I’m just proud to leave a legacy behind. I think we worked so hard this season, and future generations will look to this and work just as hard and fight for the brotherhood we’ve built this year.”

After two years of defeat in the Championship game, the third-seed Dons found a way to win it all. In a close game, the Don’s defeated the fourth seed MSJ  in a thrilling 18-17 game.

The JV team went undefeated this season, beating Gilman to capture the JV title. Middle School water polo also went undefeated.

Congratulations to the Aqua Dons!
