Loyola Blakefield Names New Head Varsity Soccer Coach
We are pleased to announce that Geaton Caltabiano has been named Loyola’s new Head Varsity Soccer Coach. He takes over a program that recently completed an undefeated season and captured the MIAA A conference title.
A former member of the Baltimore Blast, Caltabiano was part of two Major Arena Soccer League championship teams. As a collegiate athlete, he served as Team Captain for the University of Maryland Baltimore County men’s team and was named 1st Team All-American East Conference. He was also the recipient of the Coaches Award for “On and Off the Field Excellence” and received the Team Unsung Hero Award. He was also a member of the Baltimore Bays team that captured three national championships.

His extensive coaching experience includes serving as head coach for the varsity squad at Gerstell Academy, assistant varsity coach at Mount Saint Joseph High School and McDonogh School. He has also coached with the Pipeline Soccer Club since 2018, garnering regional and national championship titles.
A 2009 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School, Caltabiano served as team captain for the varsity soccer team and was honored with 1st Team All-MAA, 1st Team All-State, and 1st Team All-South recognition.

He is a relationship-driven coach that wants to maximize the mind, body, and spirit of the players he coaches. We are excited to get him working with our student athletes at Loyola.”

I look forward to becoming a proud member of the Loyola community and getting started right away.”
Caltabiano is a native of Annapolis and graduated from UMBC in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Currently residing in Davidsonville, he and his wife, Emily have thee daughters: Mila (4), Francesca (2), and Sonny (10 months).
