Class of 2024 Takes Part in IGNITE! Freshman Retreat

This past weekend, we held our IGNITE! Freshman Retreat for the Class of 2024, which was postponed from last September due to COVID. The theme for this year’s retreat was Live Unmuted. After a year filled with many technical glitches and countless “I think you’re on mute!” moments with virtual and hybrid learning, this retreat was a chance for the freshman class to be unmuted—to express themselves, to bond with the rest of their classmates, and to become reacquainted with the philosophy of a Jesuit school. We also recognized that being unmuted, whether virtually or in real life, comes with responsibility: the responsibility to respect other people, to listen openly, and to be a man for others.
