Four Dons Named Semifinalists in WJZ Black History Oratory Competition
WJZ-TV is currently holding its annual Black History Month Oratory Competition where students write essays responding to quotes from impactful black leaders, and then, if selected as semifinalists, record videos of themselves reading their essays.
This year, several Dons entered under the guidance and encouragement of English teacher Mr. Brown, and we are excited to announce that four of our students were selected as semifinalists—Caden Heiser-Cerrato '22, Anto Saka '22, Aidan Parson '22, and Cameron Shinnick '22.
WJZ is airing its Black History Month special on Saturday, Feb. 27, during which they will show clips from the semifinalists’ videos and announce the winners. We invite you to tune in to WJZ at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, or view some of the semifinalist entries here.
