Matthew Schroeder '06 Named Coach of the Year by Tennessee Scholastic Lacrosse Association

Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Schroeder '06, head lacrosse coach for Briarcrest Christian School, who was recently named Private D2 Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Scholastic Lacrosse Association. He led the Saints to the State Championship this spring, but came up just short in the finals.

Prior to joining Briarcrest in 2016, Matt was head coach of the Virgina Tech Men's Lacrosse Team for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, leading them to the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) Championship both years with a cumulative 33-5 record. During the 2015 season, the Hokies went to the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Semifinals, the furthest a Virginia Tech team had ever advanced, but fell to the University of Colorado in OT. Matt was named SELC Coach of the Year and MCLA National Coach of the Year in 2015.
