Loyola Admissions Office Update

After six years of dedicated service in the Admissions Office and as a mentor and coach, Stephen Abrams will be transitioning to a new leadership role at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia. Beginning in April 2025, Stephen will assume the position of Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Management. His time at Loyola has been characterized by a steadfast commitment to welcoming new generations of Dons, building meaningful relationships, and upholding the Jesuit values central to our mission.

In Stephen’s own words: “Loyola is a community filled with dedicated teachers, supportive parents/guardians, and students who seem to always put their fellow Dons before themselves. With that recipe, it is no wonder why so many people hold this community in such high regard. Working in the admissions office, you have the pleasure of seeing the “full cycle” of being a Don and there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing those students who were once timid applicants blossom into captains, club presidents, and most importantly, men for others. I am often asked if I am a graduate of Loyola, and while I cannot say yes to that question, I am always proud to proclaim that I am an “adopted Don.” I’m grateful to the entire Loyola community for welcoming me into the family.”

Abrams and his colleagues in the Admissions Office are currently in the midst of a busy enrollment season and will continue to work closely with families and community members through his departure this spring. Please join us in expressing our gratitude for Stephen’s service and dedication to Loyola and congratulating him on this exciting new chapter of his career in Jesuit education.

Loyola President, Rev. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., shared: “Through his leadership, enthusiasm, and deep commitment to our core values, Stephen has made a significant impact on our entire community, particularly the families he’s partnered with throughout the admissions process. We are deeply grateful for all he has contributed to the Loyola Blakefield experience and wish him, Kelly, and Wesley all the best as they begin this new adventure.”
