Fathers' Club

Calling All Don Dads

The Loyola Blakefield Fathers' Club has a three-fold mission in helping our boys and dads grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, supporting Loyola Blakefield financially through fundraising activities, and strengthening the bond between dads and sons. We encourage all dads to get involved and take part in our events throughout the year.

Welcome to the 2024–25 School Year

I am excited to be President of the Fathers’ Club. I am a graduate of the Class of 1990 and more importantly the father of a Senior, Luca. I have been involved in the Fathers’ Club since my son started at Loyola, and it has provided great opportunities for friendships, service opportunities, and plenty of laughs.

At its core, the Fathers’ Club is a social and service organization, which provides many ways for Loyola fathers to be a part of the Blakefield community. We are involved in several events throughout the year. We encourage your participation!

The Fathers’ Club is probably best known for our work as “The Papa Dons.” Papa Dons grill delicious burgers and hot dogs, and we work the concession stand at home games at Hargaden and Connor Fields, raising funds to support Loyola and our various activities. In addition to running the concession stand for athletic events, the Fathers’ Club hosts speaker dinners in the Fall and Spring. All Don dads are invited. Our first speaker dinner will be held on Thursday, November 7th and will feature Loyola’s new coaches. We also assist the Mothers’ Club with campus decorating as well as co-host the annual Christmas party, where we bar tend. We also have some father-son events, including a communion breakfast in the spring. There are opportunities to do service projects with your sons at the Baltimore Station, a homeless shelter that helps veterans. These have been great experiences for us and our boys.

All of the dads of new students are invited to our New Fathers’ Barbecue on Wednesday, September 25. We hope you will join us for dinner, drinks, and an opportunity to meet new Don Dads and learn more about the Fathers’ Club. Please be on the lookout for an invitation soon.  You can find all of our communication on the Fathers' Club Facebook page and at the very bottom of the Parent Weekly email.

The Fathers’ Club is a great way to meet the dads of other students and get involved in the school while having fun. We are always looking for volunteers to help with our programming, and we welcome your involvement!

We are looking forward to a great school year. We hope to see you on campus and at future Fathers’ Club events. If you have any questions or want to get further involved, please feel free to contact us at loyolafathersclub@gmail.com.
