Welcome to Loyola Blakefield's Middle School

Nestled in the center of the Blakefield campus is Sheridan Hall, home of the Loyola Middle School. The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are introduced to a Jesuit education by experiencing a challenging academic curriculum, enhanced with a Christian Service Program, and guided by a strong spiritual component.
The Liberal Arts curriculum includes Writing Lab, Public Speaking, Physical Education, Studio Art, and Performing Arts. The rigorous Math Program and courses in French, German, Latin, or Spanish prepare the majority of students for Honors Placement in the Upper School.
In Performing Arts all 6th graders participate in Chorus and Drama, or they may audition for Band. Every 6th grader will star in at least one performance. In the 7th and 8th grades, the students may elect to take Band, Chorus, Drama, or Public Speaking.
Each day begins with prayer and every Middle School student takes Religion classes. These classes are augmented by an annual retreat experience. The highlight of the Middle School Program is its expansive Christian Service component. These spirited young men step out of the comfort of Blakefield and travel to Pickersgill, Ridge Ruxton, or Beans and Bread to experience the joy of serving others.
The academic day concludes at 2:15 pm as the extra-curricular activities and athletics begin. The Activities Program, which often extends into the evening or weekend, is designed to help every Middle School student find his niche at Blakefield.
Sincerely,

Gail Kujawa
Middle School Principal
